EastSide Smoothies, located just inside the main entrance to the EastSide recreation building, offers naturally flavored, healthy fruit beverages as well as frozen cappuccino using products by The Royale Smoothie Co. and Alligator Ice.

Smoothies are made from the finest fruit purees and sweetened with fructose, nature's own fruit sugar. Fructose is naturally found in fruit, fruit juices and honey, and in the body is readily converted to glucose to be used for energy.
Crystalline Fructose, used by The Royale Smoothie Co., has a very low glycemic index of 32, and does not cause a large and rapid rise in insulin and does not build fat cells. Crystalline Fructose helps avoid sugar highs and worse, the sugar crash that can occur with other sweeteners. It can also be eaten by those with sugar-related problems since less insulin for digestion is required.
Basic smoothie flavors are banana, strawberry, pina colada, raspberry, tri-berry, peach, orange and mango. Many combinations can be created by mixing flavors and adding additional ingredients:

The Alligator Ice premium slush drinks are delicious and healthy, with a 12-ounce serving containing 100 percent of the recommended daily allowance of Vitamin C. Two types are available:

Don't want to bring your wallet to the gym? EastSide Centre members can prepay for a month of beverages from EastSide Smoothies! Any dollar amount can be placed on the member's EastSide account, and the staff will make the appropriate deduction with each purchase. Check with the EastSide Smoothies staff for complete details.
