Turbo Kick is the ultimate challenge for the heart and entire body! This class is complete with intervals of intense heart rate-raising activities, easy to follow combinations and kickboxing-specific strength/endurance training, and a Yoga-like cool-down. And, to top it off, there is a complete abdominal workout.

A 60-minute barbell group exercise program, Group Power strengthens all the major muscles using music-based exercise sequences. Simple, athletic movements such as squats, lunges, presses and curls make Group Power great for all ages and fitness levels. Participants use as much or as little weight as they like. Group Power is designed to be done two to three times a week. Participants should not exceed three times a week. Participants should also arrive about 15 minutes early to set up their equipment.

Unlike elaborate step aerobics routines that have evolved over the years, Group Step is an achievable, motivating program to boost people's fitness level into high gear. This cardio workout strengthens and shapes the legs and improves coordination, bone density, posture and agility. Participants train at the intensity level want without having to learn a complicated sequence of moves. This class is ideal for men and women of all ages and fitness levels. Class length is one hour.

Catch Your Breath is a mainly low-impact aerobic class geared for the mature adult. Emphasis is on flexibility and the smooth flow of the body. Class length is 45 minutes.

Sculpt 'N Cardio is a class to sculpt, tone and shape the body while still exercising the heart, thus burning fat! This class also incorporates strength training using a variety of equipment coupled with bouts of exercise to increase the heart rate. The step may also be used. Class length is 55 minutes.

Retro Cardio is an aerobics class from the good old days! Retro-Cardio features a high/low floor routine that's easy to follow, along with strength training exercises utilizing a variety of equipment. Class length is 60 minutes.

CardioBLAST is a moderate- to-high-intensity heart conditioning and fat burning class combining a high/low floor routine with a variety of strength training exercises. This class is for those wanting a challenge. Class length is 60 minutes.

Yoga/Pilates takes a unique approach in developing and utilizing a progressive series of combinations, exercises and variation flows of Pilates and Yoga. The class includes some standing poses as well as exercises on the floor.

SilverSneakers Fitness Program

The SilverSneakers Fitness Program is offered at EastSide Centre in partnership with the Humana health plan. Each member is entitled to a basic membership at the fitness center, including the new SilverSneakers classes.

The program was created and is owned by HealthCare Dimensions Inc., a national health care services company specializing in the design and management of preventive benefit packages for health plans, particularly for Medicare-eligible populations.

The SilverSneakers Fitness Program provides non-impact exercise classes, tailored to each participant's fitness level, for those who are Medicare-eligible age 65 and older, as well as those who are disabled and on Medicare. The classes are easy on the joints and appropriate for those who exercise regularly as well as those who may not have exercised in years.

The classes utilize hand weights, elastic tubing with handles, and a ball for resistance. Many of the exercises are chair-based for seated and/or standing support. The exercises ar designed to improve strength, flexibility and the ability to perform daily activities such as getting out of the car or lifting grandchildren.

Classes are offered Monday through Friday and taught by certified instructors.

SilverSneakers I - Muscular Strength and Range of Movement
Participants move to the music through a variety of exercises designed to increase muscular strength, range of movement and activity for daily living skills. Hand-held weights, elastic tubing with handles and a ball are offered for resistance, and a chair is used for seated and/or standing support.

Class day and time: Monday and Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. or 11:30 a.m.; Friday at 10:45 a.m.
Class length: 1 hour

SilverSneakers II - Cardio Circuit
This class increases cardiovascular and muscular endurance power with a standing circuit workout. Upper body strength work with hand-held weights, elastic tubing with handles, and a ball is alternated with non-impact aerobic choreography. A chair is offered for support, stretching and relaxation exercises.

Class day and time: Thursday at 10:30 a.m.
Class length: 1 hour

SilverSneakers III - YogaStretch

This class moves the entire body through a complete series of seated yoga poses. Chair support is offered to safely perform a variety of postures designed to increase flexibility, balance and range of movement. Restorative breathing exercises and a final relaxation will promote stress reduction and mental clarity.

Class day and time: Tuesday at 10:30 a.m.
Class length: 1 hour
